The “Everybody Cool Lives Here” Trust
Everybody Cool Lives Here is a creative force in Aotearoa’s arts landscape, producing art that reflects and celebrates the country’s diverse identities and abilities. Through bold, inclusive storytelling, the trust empowers artists and communities—especially those who are systemically marginalized and/or disabled—to take center stage. By using their platform to connect diverse groups, they foster dialogue that challenges perceptions of disability and builds understanding.
Their theatrical work and other projects are not created for pure entertainment, but rather to shift conversations, expand discourse, and broaden others’ tolerance. At the heart of Everybody Cool Lives Here is the phrase “whanaungatanga,” a Māori concept describing genuine connection and kinship amongst seperate souls. This spirit of radical accessibility and connection drives the trust’s artistic projects and allows their work to resonate with diverse audiences.
