Solidarity Yaad Jamaica Sanctuary and Farm
Solidarity Yaad Jamaica is a grassroots, community-funded movement that empowers BIPOC women, queer, trans, and gender-expansive survivors of gender-based violence in Jamaica through healing justice, regenerative agriculture, and economic liberation. Founded in 2015 as Raise Yuh Voice Jamaica, it began by creating safe storytelling spaces rooted in somatic therapy and ancestral wisdom. The work has since expanded to a 12.5-acre regenerative farm that advances food sovereignty, climate resilience, and collective economics.
Following pandemic challenges and hurricane destruction, the movement is now establishing permanent infrastructure to scale its intersectional model of survivor leadership, land-based healing, and feminist community resilience. Since its establishment, the collective has completed 58 projects, helping 1200 community members. The movement focuses on trauma-informed healing through Indigenous practices, regenerative farming for food/economic security , disaster-resilient infrastructure development, and LBQT+ and survivor-led solidarity economies.
