Through their work, the artist duo “–h–” (Thibaud Guichard and Nathalie Gelard) seeks new forms of knowledge to observe the intersections of various points of view, cultures and disciplines. They attempt to observe environmental reality and explore the earth’s many alternative stories. They question the writing of History, and the way we live in a set of narratives produced by specialists who shape our vision of the world. At residencies and in their work shown on their website, the duo investigates, observes, and plays with the data and “memory” of natural resources to question our current Anthropocene era and the seedlings of the possible futures it contains. Trandisciplinarity is a key focus of their work— mostly consisting of installations, which typically stage the abolition of the boundaries between domains of thought. The installation work also leads to lectures, collections, videos, and prints, for public access, among much else.
