J’Parlé Artist Group (JAG)

Founded in 2012 by Jerica D. Wortham, J’Parlé Artist Group (formerly J’Parlé) amplifies the voices of BIPOC artists in Tulsa and beyond. Through initiatives such as the Pärlá Creative Festival, (B)Light Project, and community garden partnerships, JAG fosters cultural visibility and community cohesion. These programs provide paid opportunities for artists, enhance neighborhood aesthetics, and promote health equity by creating inclusive spaces for creative expression and community engagement.

Under Wortham’s leadership, JAG has also established the Adriuna Rae Cole Scholarship Fund, supporting educational pursuits for both high school seniors and nontraditional students. Additionally, the organization offers an after-school program that mentors youth in creative disciplines such as writing, songwriting, and videography, further contributing to the development of the next generation of artists.

By being intentional with cultivating placemaking activities of distinct types, JAG provides opportunities for the BIPOC community of Tulsa to see themselves and to be seen through the medium of creativity.
