Active Chapter
Active Chapter was founded in 2024 by artists Eka Savajol, Lucia Mumma, Max Chu, and XY Zhou for underrepresented queer and POC creatives. Today, it is an independent publishing and art collective that publishes words, not only in print, but on everyday and fine art objects. They hope to widely disseminate theory, cultural mythologies, and the work of emerging/underrepresented writers. They want words in your kitchen and your bathroom and your car (if you have one) and on your body and head and feet (if you have them)!
Notably, Active Chapter is partnered with Asian American Arts Alliance, and does frequent outreach at community centers in Chinatown for elderly Asian Americans. Recently, they published their first journal, “Confessions of Love,” and our now working on their second, “In the Mood for Love.” They are also currently working on a project of oral history of trans youth in Houston, Texas.

New features and sections will be included in 2025, like featured videos, and additional featured projects. Please contact us if you discover errors.
