The Arts & Climate Initiative (“TACI”)
The Arts & Climate Initiative (TACI), established in 2008, pioneers storytelling and live performance to confront the global climate crisis. Based in Manhattan, New York City, TACI engages diverse artists and researchers worldwide, prioritizing marginalized voices in climate justice.
TACI presents climate-themed live events in NYC, ranging from theatrical presentations to expert panels, fostering diverse community engagement. Additionally, TACI spearheads Climate Change Theatre Action (CCTA), a biennial festival of short plays coinciding with UN Climate Conferences, promoting non-partisan climate conversations and local action.
Offering workshops globally, TACI focuses on the arts-climate intersection, serving diverse populations. The initiative also managed Artists & Climate Change, fostering a decade-long dialogue until 2023, now archived. TACI’s innovative approach transcends traditional venues, aiming for global impact and coordinated climate action. Their commitment reflects the urgency of climate justice in a rapidly changing world.
