Midday Movement Series (“MIDDAY”)
Midday Movement Series (MIDDAY) is a BIPOC-led grassroots initiative based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, dedicated to cultivating a new generation of dance leaders. Through professional development, mentorship, and advocacy, MIDDAY supports early-career dance artists—especially POC artists—by offering mentorship, consultations, and creating events that encourage innovation and interconnection.
Their program offers open, professional-level contemporary dance classes, recognizing teacher-choreographers as “keystone artists” who significantly impact various facets of the dance ecosystem, including professional dancers, artistic collaborators, studios, performance venues, funding institutions, and audiences. Through their work, they hope to bring more diversity to the dance industry and keep the contemporary dance community thriving with new generations of thoughtful, kind, and inclusive dance instructors for the sake of free self- expression, health, and joy.
