KinoKadre
KinoKadre is a national collective of film artists dedicated to the craft of cinema. This African Kino movement is driven by the belief that storytelling is central to all processes in filmmaking. The word “kino” is Russian for “cinema,” reflecting KinoKadre’s commitment to classical film disciplines. “Kadre,” a French term originally used in Vietnam, means ‘soldier’ and ‘organization.’ KinoKadre screens classical films, which are then analyzed, interrogated, and discussed. The group functions as both a ‘crafting’ and ‘support’ initiative for filmmakers and film enthusiasts.
